Bill Padula, PhD, is a Co-Founder and Principal at Stage Analytics, providing focused expertise in HEOR. He is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical & Health Economics at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, and a Fellow in the Leonard D. Shaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics in Los Angeles, CA.
His work extensively covers the theoretical foundations of medical cost-effectiveness analysis, which has been funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the PhRMA Foundation. He has found innovative ways of combining pharmaceutical and health economics methods with data analytics, health system quality improvement, and drug pricing issues.
In addition to over 100 scientific publications, he has received the ISPOR paper-of-the-year award for excellence in HEOR application and the ISPOR Bernie O’Brien New Investigator Award. He is an Associate Editor of Value in Health, and he served as President for the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) from 2021-2022.
Prior to his current work at Stage, he was employed as a health economist at Amgen (Thousand Oaks, CA) from 2010-2013. He completed his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University, M.S. in Health Policy from Dartmouth College, M.S. in Analytics from University of Chicago, Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research from University of Colorado, and postdoctoral fellowship in health economics from University of Chicago.
