Elena Fernandez specializes in pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes. She received her PhD from the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she designed and conducted research applying econometric models to evaluate opioid utilization in cancer survivors. Prior to her graduate training, she worked as a cancer research training award (CRTA) fellow at the National Cancer Institute. She also received a Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Mary Washington.
