Vasco M. Pontinha, MPharm, MBA, PhD is a health economist with significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Over the length of his extensive career, Dr. Pontinha has served in several brand management roles in multi-million-euro business units. His successful track record of turnarounds, brand creation, and innovations were recognized with multiple awards. Currently, his focus relies on researching economic evaluation of non-pharmaceutical interventions and health care policy. 

Dr. Pontinha received his Ph.D. from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy, where he developed group-based trajectory models to identify patterns of long-term medication adherence and implemented machine learning algorithms to evaluate value-based health care policy. Prior to his doctoral training, he received his pharmacy degree from the University of Lisbon and his Master in Management from the Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics.
